Randomly generated world maps in Acts just feelss anoying.
The randomly generated world maps don't add any interesting replay value to me like Jonathan mentioned in one of his streams.
To me, it just feels annoying to search specific locations for every new character/difficulty (norm/cruel). An additional problem is that connected locations aren't always in the direction they are connected on the world map. I had a few instances where the location was connected in the south on the world map, but in the instance it was in the north. if the Act world maps where static it would also speed up the loading time. LOL, this is one of the best ideas, random maps, ever. And you want it removed? No thanks.
The problem isn't that, but that they are huge maps, that walk at a snail's pace. In Poe1 it was fine. Maybe the map is a little bigger, yes, but not these huge maps that force us to walk like ants, that's the problem, the movement, and that the maps are excessively big. Maybe a little bigger than they were, but not that much, why? Maybe make some maps bigger, but not all of them. They have insisted on having us there all the league, all the time, all of us (which I play all the time anyway), and they are not going to achieve it because before starting we are already fed up with the tedium of these bad decisions. They removed one of the best things that I enjoyed the most about Poe-1, the fluid movement. If they wanted another different game for a different audience, don't call it Poe, call it "snail". |

" Dude, did you read what OP wrote? I guess not. Yeah, it's confusing and brings nothing. I thought it will be random every league, not every character, lol On Probation Any%

" "randomly generated maps" Where? I see the same stuff every... single... time... With only very minor differences like the map is turned or something is moved. It's still the same very boring map that you've already played through multiple times in an attempt to get to the end-game.... again... I totally agree. I understand it for Maps but not for the campaign. Grimdawn and titan quest have static maps that feel full and alive (especially Grimdawn).
The current state of POE1 & 2 campaign zones is just a convoluted mess. Full of dead ends with nothing in them. They could really improve the atmosphere by having dedicated static zone layouts. It feels more like laziness or lake of talent in creating memorable static maps to be honest. |

Procedurally generated locations are the staple of the genre since D1, and are there to stay, being surprised and wanted them changed is like going to play rugby and complaining that other players can tackle you.
To the user who compared them to static maps in Grim Dawn or Titan Quest. How many times did you finish campaigns in these games? Because the PoE campaigns are meant to be went through tens of times, with every league, possible with multiple characters. There could be more points of interests in them... Wait, there actually are in the enviromental story telling aspect, but I guess you just ignore them because these don't drop exalted orbs? About randomized overworld maps, I don't see it, every character has the same in my game, maybe I'm doing something wrong. |

" No... god, no. It's meant to be gone through ONCE. One time is more than enough. It should be skippable after that. Nobody wants to play through the same campaign multiple times, much less twice (as it stands in POE 1 AND POE 2) with flipped assets, much less twice every single time you create a new character. Nobody sane anyway. Visit my Steam profile here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/TheBaconOverlord/

" you got me wrong... I talk about the world map not the zones itself... I know the difference is minor especially in act1. but for example act 2 anoys me propably most because if trial of the sekhema location and that the map changes from Act 2 to Act 4. Addionally you when you go the trial of the sekhema in act 4 and port back to town because of trade.. you are in act 2 which changes the location again ( at least on my char) |

The random/infinite map generator is Delve system imported to atlas.
If u think delve is great, u will think this atlas system is great IF u think delve is bad, u will think this atlas system is bad. I personally prefer target farming something. This preferece also change league by league, sometimes i like to farm some layout, others i like to farm bosses. So think PoE1 is superior in this way, cause you have more control about what u want do or build around. |
