Trials of Chaos needs improvements
|
The tuning on this mode needs to be looked at. I shouldn't be struggling to just past the first 3 trials everytime. This is similar issue to the endgame map mechanic where it's just "Oh haha, instadie" lose all your time and loot.
Very cool mechanic. Very cool mode. Really this game being all about insta-die on the slightest error is getting really old and I don't see people wanting to stick around with this issue as I only see this getting more insane. Oh whurps, you didn't dodge a basic boss attack. Whurps you were putting a crystal in an altar and were mobbed by instadeath modifiers. Whurpes here's a boss with equal insta kill moves at 75% in all res. I don't understand what you want from me as a player as these are one time use with how extreme things are. I don't feel good or that I'm out playing the game, just using 20+ ultimatums to barely get by. Should remove the leaving early, and design it around actually clearing this content and making it more fun to play. Currently it's a chore mode and I see why people price ultimatums for candy, as they don't like the mode either. Losing your session if you want to Trade or DC is equally disrespectful to players time investment into the trial. They should be encouraged to actually play the game rather than me motivated to avoid the mode and whatever is tied with it at all cost. Trials of Sek as much as players dislike the Honour system feels way more far and in control due to the relic system. Chaos is really the Trials of Ass Mechanics to screw you as often as possible. Level I and II mechanics need to be reduced 10-15% in effectiveness/ range/ and damage Negatives on players reduced 15-20% Critical Strike: 300 -> 250% Any turret type affect -15% efficiency Crow Boss needs to be tuned down about 15-20%% across all damage Allow us to skip the cutscene that Chaos guy does to save time. Remove the distance differences on rooms by 20-30%. Everything about this mode feels like it's deliberately designed to be miserable. Maybe that's part of their ideological design, regardless it's not very intuitive or fun to be punished constantly on the slightest of error. Some common examples. Storms on elevators, oh you died. Blood ball on elevators, oh you died. Homing blood ball on monster death, putting in crystal off screen. Yup, you died. Crow boss with complicated moves? Oh yep, you died on the first or second move. Very much learned how to fight him, thanks. 2/3 end game modes are disappointing to play. It's really sad and unmotivating to play this game or to recommend it going forward. This game is way off from a release. Due to response time of these issues compounds the true severity of the problems. I don't know GGG or how they response to feedback. In my case with devs on a scale like this, likely to be overwhelmed and tonedeaf simultaneously. PS: Add insult to injury you can't teleport to your guild hall from Trials of Chaos. The trials need to be removed.
Why gate critical class progression behind some of the worst mechanics from POE that are universally hated and despised by most of the player base? Make the ascendancies a quest-line that all classes of any build can actually do. Make the current sadistic ascendancy trials optional content (not needed for progression) with decent gear drops - but tone the difficulty down a bit. |
