Campaign: PoE 2, Maps: PoE 1
i dont like the directions maps are heading. The campaign feels so vastly different from mapping its insane.
Campaign Boss fights are slower, more tactically, you actually consider mechanics. In maps you just blast through everything, so much loot you need a loot filter again to not randomly pickup items by accident, kill fast or get killed mentality is back again. I think this is some identity crisis which needs some work done for sure. Monsters are way too fast in maps compared to campaign and so are the builds. What do you guys think? PoE2's end game essentially structurally replaced the Atlas with Delve. It embeds its "maps" in an above-ground "endless delve" structure. And, since bosses are one-try-only in PoE2, every "map" doesn't necessarily have a boss anymore.
That was always going to feel very, very different from PoE1's Atlas of Maps approach, and I think long-time PoE1 players are struggling with that a bit, because they're trying to force PoE2's end game to play identically to the way the Atlas played, which it won't. PoE2's "maps" aren't really intended to play like maps - they're intended to play like the campaign areas of the game that exist outside of the boss arenas. So, yeah, you can blast through "maps" forever in PoE2 without ever advancing towards your end-game goals, because the end-game goals are all in the boss arenas. I don't think it's an identity crisis, exactly -- it's just an entirely different identity. Stay sane, exiles!

yea what you stated is not really my issue here. Just the pacing of the game in general. You are ignoring mechanics unless its on death effects, in campaign you dont.
While the campaign feels like a new game, like PoE 2, the maps are just a zoom zoom fiesta like in PoE 1 thaty my issue. You basically turn your brain off while in the campaign you take care while playing. |

Most of the things in maps are just lazy code copy pasta from poe1, ofcourse its poe1.
The 'new' things are just less visibility for some on death effects that were changed 15 times before in poe1 to get actually visible |

" Hey everyone, Jonathan here. Some games launch without an endgame, but we’re not making that mistake. Instead, we’ll be copying leagues from our previous game with no adjustments, not even considering if they fit here. Enjoy! On Probation Any%

Yes, end game needs to be slowed down. Builds need to be slow down, mobs in end game need to be slowed down. This is just poe1 with graphical update in end game.

came here hoping to see some complains about the map layouts, instead of see people wanting to slow the game down? Maps being quick is the only redeemable feature of endgame so far. Zoom is the backbone of ARPG. Keep maps fast, make map have actual bosses that require mechanics. that's the solution imo.

I spent more time running circles in an empty map looking for the last Altar then clearing the map. Solution is needed. Be it move speed and waypoints or markers or anything else. |
