1 portal death and why it sucks
|
In poe1, when you overjuice a map and you inevitably die to it because you are gearing up/testing your limits, you at least have your peace knowing you have 6 portals, but most importantly you can retry it anytime you want by reinvesting some juice into your maps and scarabs. In poe2, you have to get insanely lucky to find irridated-corrupted and be lucky enough to have towers next to it to juice it with breach and deli ideally to put your t16 map in. If you fail, gl sucker, go dora the explora the atlas again till you find something even remotely close to it so you can clench yourself at the stress of not dying vs the anticipation of the rewards you might get. Yes this is salty, but I hope its at least constructive. Either let us juice however/whenever we want to juice the map that we want or have 6 portals back in the game. Its frustrating as hell.

Your argument for why it sucks is exactly the reason why it needs to stay.
If you pushed too far and juiced too much you shouldn't just be able to keep throwing your body at it until you get past it. There's nothing insanely lucky about getting a map with corruption and irradiation on it, about 70% of the corrupted nodes on my also have irradiation... just use the towers. A boss node with it is a lot harder to find, and it sucks when you fail and have to go find another one... but that's part of the challenge and obstacles to overcome. |

" Either your being ironic. Or you just accidently made the best argument for why it absolutetly needs to stay.

Yes its true there is nothing lucky about getting corruption and irridation, the problem is getting those with end game mechanics, plus having to micro manage towers and their range of influence to juice a singular map only to fail it, so you have to go to do the same thing in another part of the atlas, with corruption, with a small cluster of towers, and praying for the tablets to hit the maps you want. I dont get it. What is this reason you refer to? Is it the difficulty of the map? Becuase if it was something that was related or at least pretended to be a skill issue then it would have been fine. But the insane one shot mechanics dont really correlate to that. They simply add to the frustration. There is no challenge to overcome when the challenge is absurdity in and by itself, and the only reason left is to waste your time.

So you find a +2monster level map, with league mechanics. And you want to be able to run this with your 8 suffix tier 16 corrupted map but with 0 risk, so even if you die you can just corpserush it until completion.
I think that sounds incredibly boring. I hope they keep it the way it is.
" I said to either make it 6 portals with the current atlas system, or make the maps we run easier to juice whilst maintaing the 1 portal death. I just personally believe both of them at the same time is annoying, and needlesly frustrating. This also forces the player to only play and always play the most meta build ever just to avoid this frustration. It is human to feel it and it is human to want to avoid it. Such a punishing system is not healthy for the game whether you look at it by build diversity or longevity, but thats just how I see it. |
