suggestion for act 3 final boss

So, i beat the final boss in act 3, he dropped all his loot(a legendary, rare, and some magics) the boss had the quest icon over his head and was waiting for me to talk to him. my inventory was full so i decided to go back to town to disenchant instead of inventory tetris-ing the loot he dropped and furthering the story. when i clicked the portal i woke up on the riverbank in ng+ act 1. i can no longer get back to the arena to grab my loot. i can portal from the riverbank back to the ziggurat town, but if i try to go through the time travel gateway it takes me to the riverbank in ng+.

i dont really care about the loot because my ranger wasnt going to use the legendary that dropped. but thats super frustrating to have been kicked into ng+ with no warning and no way back to the stuff i unknowingly left behind.

consider changing how that part of the game progresses please.
