Mapping just sucks
|
I have leveled an invoker monk, an infernalist witch and a deadeye ranger to maps. I find mapping to suck.
A) Large Maps. B) One death per map. C) Loss drops when you die. D) Backtracking to find a rare you missed to complete map. E) Because of one death maps I don't want to try the extra content before completing the map. Means more backtracking to do them. F) I found a divine orb in Act 5(Act 2 redo) and have not seen one in any maps G) Maps take forever to complete. H) Maps feel like red maps from POE 1 on Tier 1 POE2. I) Harder to gear up if low level maps are hard and gear drops suck at first. I know there are a lot of posts concerning these issues. I also know this is beta. My suggestions would be: A) Make maps smaller B) 6 portals map tiers 1-6, 3 portals map tiers 7-11 and 1 portal 12-17 tier. B.1) or 3 portals all maps C) I could say mail them but that wouldn't work well with how many items drop unless it was only certain items would mail. D) make it so all rare mobs have an icon that you can see. E) more portals would help this. F) drops is always a hard one. G) Smaller maps H) Will have to think of better ways on this one. I) Having more portals so you can go back in map early on should help you gear up better. Side note. Both Trials for Ascension suck. I have completed them multiple times on my toons and hated every second of it. Last bumped on Dec 23, 2024, 6:27:23 PM

Mapping in general is terrible. I'm not a long time ARPG player but I don't understand how mapping became a standard endgame system for all these games.
It's such a boring system the players goal is to find a way to complete them as fast as possible. How did ARPG fans allow this to become the norm? |

" Mapping in POE1 was better. A) you could target farm for div cards B) You could farm map layouts you enjoyed. C) You could farm bosses on certain maps D) Most maps you didn't have to back track all the time E) Maps were half the size. F) You could juice the map with the content you liked. Keep grinding. |

I think this game has 2-3 years of development left to attract PoE1 players. Cause this isn't it.
PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.
