Death Penalty: The Problem and The Solution

Okay everybody know that we have this mechanic of death where you lose 10% of your CURRENT level exp.

What is the problem?
The problem is that nobody feels it on low levels because either we don't have it there or its neglectable at 50 and lower levels. After level 55-60 players can DEFINITELY feel it. After level 70 it feels DISGUSTING because players ACTUALLY lose their TIME.... and this is very big issue!!!


Solution 1: lower the amount of exp loss starting from lvl 60 - 10% up to lvl 99 - 0.1% (in other words keep the SAME amount of exp lost on all levels)


Solution 2: keep constant 10% exp loss but lower exp needed for next level on high levels 70+ to RATIONAL amounts

make two kinds of servers

1 for the elite and diehards as the server is now

2 for the casual players without the xp penalty and map loss

all people happy

XP loss starts at level 70.

Solution : have you considered... You know... not dying ?

Casual Andy here... and I say, nope... the challenge is part of the fun/challenge of it. Start playing smarter/slower and/or build your character up better. Contrary to popular belief lately in the gaming industry, devs don't need to cater to the LCD of gamers.

XP loss hardly matters below 90, setting you back a dozen minutes at worst. And is largely irrelevant after it since you should have your build planned for that level and regard anything beyond it as an extra unless getting 1-3% per map is your idea of fun.

Punishment is not challenge.

Challenge is what you faced before you died. Punishment is what happens after.

Keep the game challenging, drop the punishments.

There is no need for an XP penalty. If it wasn't in the game already, how many of you would be asking for it to be added in?
