Better Controller Support
I have a couple issues with playing with the controller:
1st: The pickup key or interact (X) is the same as skill. When a monster is nearby (sometimes off screen even) you cannot pick up an item or interact with certain mechanics - Death Crystals to be exact. I can't get past the escape trial for the 3rd ascendancy if the monsters are too close, I cannot tag the death crystal and run out of time. (I will try again after I level up some more). Solution: If we could use the L3 and R3 (toggle buttons) for interaction and pick up and / or customization key binds for controller. 2nd: If there is a way to switch from controller to Mouse and keyboard without going backing out to the character select screen. Using the M+Key is much better for: - going through your inventory - Allocating points and navigating both skill tree and atlas - crafting - trading Solution: If possible, make the game recognize if you are using a mouse and keyboard or a controller on the fly. Basically, the controller is best for battle and the mouse is best for everything else right now. I have over 2000 hours in POE 1 and know how to play with mouse, but I have always thought the game would be better with a controller and I am super happy that the controller is usable. Thank you for adding it. I just want to say that what GGG has done this far is truly amazing, the sound, graphics, landscapes, characters, monsters, everything super bad ass! I found out you can bind the interact button to a different key, mines currently are LT+A, this had made trials easier.
the Issue I am having now is the advance skill options. it allows you to use a skill in a facing direction section, however it's using the right thumb stick. I'm not that skilled to hold a button with my right finger and aim with my thumbs, it feels just weird. I will mess with the bindings again but watching ppl leap slam in areas while my character hops in place is just dumb. |

Would be nice for the game to not disconnect/logout when disabling the controller.
Also would have liked to navigate the bank tabs with the controller cursor rather than the D-down R which i always forget... |

This is useful to know. I've run into issues with the controller being unable to target chests and ground loot for the same reason. Will look into it and see if it helps.

I am able to use a different button to pick up items, but it cannot be linked to a skill, or you will have to wait until either the monsters are dead or monsters are not aware of your presence.
It would still be nice to use L3 and R3 either assigned skill or other actions. like hide all items on the ground...mine is R2 and down but it doesn't seem to work. |

The ability to switch between mouse/keyboard and controller during the game without going back to the character selection screen would be such a nice feature. I would like to be able to do the fighting with controller and everything else with mouse and keyboard. The fighting with controller feels so nice (thank you for implementing this btw) but managing the inventory, skills etc just is a pain.
