The only thing Uxmal the Beastlord does is run way, it's peak of bad boss design.
Or is it perchance bugged?
Because running back and forth in a boss arena where the only thing the boss does is flee feels like a bug. Reach where it landed, and it flys away again immediately. It wasn't so bad on my Ranger who just shot it from the clifftop, but on my melees it's just plain tedium, and turns the bossfight into an attrition battle: what gives out first, the bosses health bar to the inklings of damage I do as it takes off, or the timer before the game crashes again? " Oh, if only you knew... |

" Knew what? I've got a character in endgame mapping, multiple characters that have already ascended twice, multiple Uxmal kills, multiple characters in Cruel difficulty. I simply finally dealt with this particular nuisance enough times to make a thread for it, largely in case it was a bug. What thing are you referring to that you think I haven't seen yet? |

I guess he's referring to that troll boss from whakawairua tuahu who has proximity shield and only runs away from you while teleporting.

Yeah, but that boss is/was connected to a mechanic where the faster you kill it the better your drops.
I second Uxmal. It is legitimately the only boss fight I haven't enjoyed. It's not challenging or interesting mechanically. It's just tedious and frustrating. |

I just fought my first Uxmal and I had petrification statues. So the chase around the 3-floored arena was further hampered by taking detours or waiting out the debuff. The statues added tension in earlier rooms with mobs. Here they added to the tedium.
