warrior skill mana costs are crazy
So just sharing my experience and thoughts on this.
Through the campaign I stayed with using mana instead of blood magic, although I did try blood magic at one point I realized I needed a lot more life regen to make that practical. My SSF warrior is lvl 75 now and I recently found an item that gives all my skills +2 to their levels. So I equipped that and gave it a try, wow... I went from having no mana problems to now I can only use a few skills before I have zero mana. I checked their cost and leap slam was costing like 122 mana, holy hell, how is that even a thing, the rest of my skills were like 75 each or something, ridiculous. So ok, maybe now the game expects me to use blood magic, I mean.. it is on the warrior side of the passive tree and I don't see anything on the tree that could deal with the ever increasing mana cost mana situation. So I try blood magic again, and its.. ok. But I still don't have enough life regen, it seems unwise to self damage so hard when I'm also finding it very difficult to increase total life. I notice that the blood magic keystone in POE2 does not give any supplementary benefit like it did in POE1. Granted that benefit in POE1 was minor, but it was at least something. But when I think about it some more, I realize, in POE1 I could swap out my mana flask with another life flask to compensate.. and guess what, can't do that in POE2! Seriously.. what do? Like to me, merely using blood magic is itself a significant cost and a risk and for the keystone to not offset that cost at all? Here are some ideas: 1. let mana flask be replaced with a second life flask 2. convert a portion of mana to life 3. convert a portion of mana regeneration to life regeneration That way those mods on gear won't just be totally useless when using blood magic. and the other thing is.. is staying on mana even practical for warrior at the later stages of end-game? Shouldn't there be more means to make it practical on the passive tree? Like the choice between them should be more meaningful instead of feeling forced to take blood magic. In POE1 the choice to stay on mana did have a lot of meaning and benefit because of mana reserve skills, but that is gone in POE2... Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 11:05:12 PM

The only approach I found is to get all those regen nodes, and stack as much hp and leech as you can. Since warrior skills are quite slow and you always have some downtime related to positioning - that will solve the puzzle. Since regen nodes are % hp based, more hp you have - more you regen, obviously.
It does work, I think I saw it on Bajheera stream last week - but you do need a lot of leech, attack speed for leech, 3k+ hp, and regen, and he was level 90+ if not mistaken. So this is very late endgame thing to run it efficiently. |
