Quest Trial of Chaos finished without boss rewards on portal reentry

I was doing my quest trial of chaos for ascendancy points 3 and 4, very late because HCSSF, and I had to portal out after completing the second room (and before choosing the next handicap). After a ~20min break I get back into the portal to find myself in the treasure room, and working ascendancy fountain.

On retrospect I'm not sure if I had to, or was able to, click the fountain, but I got the two points without finishing the rest of the trial regardless. I'd have liked to fight the boss and get a soul core but, more importantly this bug could be exploitable especially if you're able to clear the more difficult ones for ascendancy... I used an inconspicuous title here.
