One portal map another failure for multiplayer

Played with a friend whose character is your elaborately designed Spark Archmage with Chao inoculation, so basically my deadEYE can't see anything on the screen and rolled on chaos AOE. Traditionally this is a HAHA point between friends and I will return to the map and enjoy the game with my friend for the rest of the map, but with your genius one portal map there was nothing to HAHA at, only awkward silence and had to play with cell phone waiting for several boring minutes.
No matter how you're eager to expand people's playing time with this mechanic, one portal map is a failure of imitation both for single person and for multiplayer.
