Clearing PoE files
Not sure how safe it is to do this... I've been clearing out my 'minimap' folder for some time now. Seems like it loads an minimap for that instance and keeps it forever... well over 1K files in there that I deleted and the game loads faster for me and gives no error/bug issues. I was wondering if anyone else does that and if there are any other files that are safe to clear out. I noticed under 'logs' I have a Client folder with a lot of chat logs in it... can I delete that or clear it out too? Guess I could just uninstall/re-install to try to speed things up, but I'd like to avoid that. Thanks.

It's it Documents/My Games/Path of Exile.
I just checked and it's only 3 MB big. Don't think it's gonna make much difference to loading times. |

I have over 6,000 files in my mini map folder on a standard HDD. I tried starting a new minimap folder and i noticed a huge drop in performance.
I'm about to set up the minimap folder in a rampdisk, ill let you know how it goes. Last edited by Zerovirus27#1952 on May 13, 2013, 11:48:56 PM

So, i have my ShaderCacher, logs, and Minimap folders in my ramdisk and overall the game stutters less and just feels smoother when playing.
If you can't get a SSD right now I definitely recommend setting up a ramdisk :) |
