Co-op play thoughts
I will start off by saying i did not play poe1, tried to but got intimidated and ran off. But decided to try poe2 on a fresh start because diablo 4 has grown a little dull. All in all, even though the passive tree is still intimidating the game has been an enormous amount of fun with a good amount of challenge to it. I only decided to make this thread for feedback because i feel as though the couch co-op (ps5) could use a little love. My brother an i werent particularly fans of the fact that our loot is not separated and its just a hardset free for all. I get you can just drop things and whatnot, but it seems like an unnecessary step to take. Not to mention that gold is shared which isnt great either. Reviving also seems to be impossible most times- its not really the time of the revive, but the fact that hits can interrupt it, and not even save the progress you put into the revive thats more of a turnoff, as monsters and bosses dont rest ever to give you that revive chance. It'd be nice to be able to start half of it, dodge a few hits and go back to finish the other half at the very least. I get the game is supposed to be hard, but it has been very rare we could pull a revive off without pulling the mobs far far away and quickly running back with a prayer they move slow enough, finishing things solo, or just dying to try again together. But anywho, i think the biggest issue of couch co-op is- i'm trying to get my brother into the game, and aside from those few tedious things previously mentioned- he seems to really enjoy it and interested in getting it on his own ps5. But the issue with that is, even though he signed into his own ps5 account- his character was ultimately created on my poe2 account. So, if he were to get the game for himself, he'd really just have to start over and lose the character he worked on. Not sure if thats just a beta thing, but i cant imagine he'll enjoy finding that out.
But anyway, all in all- the game itself has been great and i havent really had any complaints until the co-op experience- i can see myself playing this long term as there is a lot to learn, and a lot to do, and i very much look forward to the full release! Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 6:53:48 AM
