The trials of chaos are completely demoralizing and make me want to stop trying

I'm very far behind everyone else playing the game, I'm still in act 3 struggling to get through the trails of chaos. I've seen a lot of streamers just do them way over leveled/come back to it later but I went with Bloodmage and not having leach while playing is exhausting to say the least so I really wanted to just get it over with and continue playing.

4-5 tries in and I'm really just feeling like shit.

My DPS feels fine because if I don't want to kill myself by using my skills I'm forced to spec crit so I'm as a result killing stuff pretty quick but that has left me mildly squishy but not like glass cannon status or anything, I first tried all the act 3 bosses so I don't feel like it should be that big of an issue...

I think the problem is just the total lose of plot when it comes to what's happening in the trail, its kind of just a bullet hell that also checks to make sure you've somehow fit every kind of survivability on your gear by the midpoint of act 3..... like actually what's the idea here.

I don't even want to try again, I feel like I can just keep trying and get it without having to grind and come back but its not worth adapting to the awful game design.

Meanwhile the rest of the community is deep into mapping and grinding endgame gear like this is their fulltime job or something while I'm stuck losing to the trails of slop in act 3... I wanna admit to myself that I just suck at games but poe1 never left me feeling like that and I guess nether have any other games...

This could also just be a Bloodmage problem (I've heard no end of it from other people in the community).

It's not just a blood-mage problem. I'm on a monk and yeah I'm going to have to over level like hell to beat that. The amount of negatives and the amount they do such as 40% of your defense I mean who the hell thought that was a good idea. By the time I get to the boss being a melee class and then the boss is being very anti melee just screams frustration on top of that those trials are super anti-Coop.

On my witch infernalist it wasn't that big of a deal but on my monk I'm to the point where I'm ready just delete the f****** class. The further I've got into the game the more frustrating it has been playing a melee class survivability is just garbage especially with evade or yeah sure I don't take damage until I do and then I'm instantly killed. That feels that survivability gets worse the higher level I've gotten with the class.

With the staggering mechanics from hits the amount of AoEs that are hitting on the screen simultaneously and the lack of survivability at the level you're supposed to do that trial is rather asinine.

They definitely have to go in and start looking at balance across the board especially with builds that require you to be in close. The attack windows are too short you do two little damage in your windows given the attack speed of many of the bosses.

Trial of Chaos is a bit much right now, over level (massively) + luck is really it... or just go do 2 floors of sanctum once you've leveled up more.

My witch (early on, lots of arsonists) took 14 tries. Warrior... 3 hours, gave up. Upgraded gear, came back later... nope 5 more failures. Came back again at lvl 47 and in Act 1 Cruel, was going to be the last time I tried... finally got it.

To compare, at lvl 45 I ran sanctum at lvl 52 with that same warrior and made it to the boss room no problem. DPS was a bit low for it and I actually died to HP (still had over 50% honor) so... yeah, I was going to do sanctum for my 2nd if I failed that last Trial of Chaos.

TL;DR

Sanctum (Sekema) is in a good place now, if you learn the mechanics and use relics it's comfortably doable even on warrior.

Trial of Chaos needs some tweaks, but only at the quest version IMO. Remove some of the possible really bad modifiers and/or give them a new Tier 0 version (so you get a weak baby version of it, and if you select the same thing a second time then you get the normal tier 1). Again, this is just if you're using the unlimited quest coin, after that it's perfectly fine (IMO) to leave it as it is.
