remove map mechanics from a zone on activation instead of death

right now it's very punishing to die as you lose all map mechanics. this leads to unfun gameplay like skipping mechanics until you complete the map and doing them in a specific order.

removing the mechanic from a zone on activation instead of death means that players will still be incentivized to Not Die, while removing the unfun skipping mechanics loop.

You know what - *if* we're going to go down the route of making dying in maps less punishing, this feels like the best suggestion I've seen for how to go about doing it.
posting this suggestion again in light of jrogers mentioning he would like a way to allow re-doing map mechanics upon death without allowing economic abuse

allowing people to keep mechanics they haven't done while losing only the mechanic they failed will contribute to reducing FeelsBad while still preventing abuse cases
