We need checkpoints before pinnacle bosses in trials

I tried both trials for my 4th set of points again tonight. I am level 90 witch and can generally easily do juiced T15s. I've even *kind of* accepted the 1 portal thing.

Managed to reached the last boss in both trials, got destroyed by them and had to go again. I gave up after 3 or 4 attempts on either trial, having wasted more than 3 hours rerunning content that had nothing to do with the boss I wanted to kill in terms of difficulty or rewards.

Generally I believe that ascendencies should be way easier to get, but that's not my point here. Death in a game should be punishing but fair. Having to run a full 10 trials or 4 floors in order to redo one of the hardest bosses in the game, with random mechanics that change every run AND gating player power behind that feels unfair and ultimately just a bad design choice.

A checkpoint right before the last boss, where you can - only for your ascendency - retry the boss as many times as you'd like, would have given me more than enough incentive to learn the fight and kill the boss. Rerunning niece content that I don't really want to do to get power is just not for me.

As it stands, I will not be getting my 4th set of points any time soon it seems, which is sad. Thankfully it's not a build defining notable I'm missing out on.

I've seen a lot of people having similar issues so hopefully something is done about this. Otherwise I'll have to remain a PoE1 andy and be sad about it because the core of PoE2 is awesome.

I only played PoE1 mostly early on, but weren't ascendencies gained before endgame? I'm on T10 maps right now and just got my 3rd set of points(6 total) and it took forever to get through 3 trials. Fortunately it only took 2 attempts, but the time investment is huge.
