Power Charges are not generated - Monk

Hi guys,

I have a problem with the generation of Power Charges as a monk, I have been trying in every possible way to generate a power charge and use charged staff, but unfortunately I can't.

To generate a power charge, I try to use combat frenzy and the passive skill "resonance" and still nothing. Even the icon that should appear during generation does not appear on my character.

Has anyone had a similar experience or do you have any suggestions?

I was just about to post the same query when I read your report.... having the same issue as you ...... no power charge generation and don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong or a bug in the game. I'm running herald of ice, charge infusion and ghost shroud but only one icon appears in maps which is the ghost shroud, don't know if other persistent buffs are supposed to have icons displayed when they are running in maps or not.... is that a bug as well? I have checked spirit and have enough to run all and in the skill gem tab they are activated and look like they are running.

To get charges with CF you need to freeze or electrocute an enemy (note this doesn't include shock). Are you doing this?

If Options -> Interface -> Gameplay -> Show Aura Icons is checked, you should see it. If not, it's not enabled.

Also, both, unlike in PoE1, HoI won't itself cause you to freeze things (and generate charges with CF), it'll only cause you to shatter things that are already frozen. You need some amount of cold damage to attacks elsewhere (I am the Blizzard (monk ascendancy), Essence of the Mountain, weapon, rune, gloves, etc)

thanks for the information I now have the icon for herald of ice running. still don't have any charge generation happening in maps. I have added cold damage on a barrier staff I am using with ice strike and support gems are cold infusion, martial tempo, primal armament and concentrated effect. Also using frost bomb and freezing mark.

ended up having to take combat frenzy and resonance on the passive skill tree to generate charges. at least i have them now.
