The "Advanced" items in Cruel Act 1...
|
GGG,
Starting more or less in the last Act or Cruel Act 1, players begin to find that monsters drop "Advanced" versions of low level white items. I suggest you change the names of these items: pick up a synonym finder and rename these items to something similar and shorter. Not only will this make these items easier to read, but it will also prevent players from getting confused about whether these items are quality or not. I find these long names and the fact that they all start with "Advanced" frustrating and annoying. I believe that there are plenty of players who'll agree. The advanced items, like Cruel difficulty itself, are placeholders while the back half of the campaign is in development. In PoE1, they do use different names (like instead of "advanced short bow" there's "thicket bow" etc).

" Hahah! Trying to tilt me, are ya? >< Yes... "Superior Advanced Elite Great" EVERYTHING ON THE SCREEN!!! :: Stands suddenly in a fit of rage, overturning his desk, as all the items on its surface scatter violently across the room... :: |

Reminds me of the old Superior Minion and Totem Elemental Resistance Support

" I can see it now: I'll choose that support gem and the resulting name on hover will appear as: "Superior Minion and Totem E..." Last edited by Mequias#0934 on Dec 20, 2024, 7:48:19 AM

" It sounds made up, but it is real item. Hilarious. |

100% agree, I picked up so many of the damned things thinking they had quality at first.
I still will occasionally pick one up by reflex just because it really does sound like it should have quality, really annoying. |

I kinda prefer the Advanced/Expert naming convention. Now I don't have to remember five billions bases that are literal dogshit. I see Expert, I know it's the upper tier of bases. Simple as.
