Why are ascendancies tied to RNG?

Title.
I don't understand this design choice. You took 2 of the shittiest league mechanics and decided they should be how you acquire a core aspect of the class you're playing? I've got 84% honor res - the mobs and bosses aren't a problem UNTIL you get some bullshit RNG affliction that kills your run! I got hit with the -25% movespeed affliction at the start of the 2nd floor and immediately knew I won't be able to do this, but I tried anyways. I made it half way through the 4th floor just HOPING I could get that removed or get the +movespeed one (forgot the name) 100% RNG on saving the run lol I miss Izaro so much Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 9:56:36 PM

Just lost my second run to "afflictions give afflictions". Lost all my energy shield randomly, which cut my honor in half. =( This sucks.

Much easier to make a game where everything is RNG, no math involved. Bad devs.

I was playing yesterday, I skipped the Sanctum season in poe 1 so had no idea what it was. I played it once - the 'required' time and was really not a fan of it. Did my ascendency yesterday - or rather tried it. I despise it. With everything. I'll take the slowest bosses with all the health and movement skills and everything else over it. I abhor this version of ascendency. Things I didn't realise took honour off made it drop down without me realising it. Getting the 'random affliction' giving me purple smoke so I have absolutely no idea what the multitude of other afflictions are made it impossible to figure out if I was going a route that I could handle or not.
I hate this more than anything else. It legitimately made me quit right then, and I looked at it to play then remembered that was a thing awaiting me and decided I would rather eat molten gravel. |
