Stormcaller Arrow completely useless

The Stormcaller Arrow skill gem for the Ranger is excellent for taking down single targets like bosses. However, there's a significant drawback: when the arrow pierces an enemy, the lightning bolt strikes where the arrow lands (a wall behind the target), as stated in the skill description.

This mechanic might be fine for low-level Rangers, but as you progress and gain pierce modifiers from the skill tree or other sources, the skill becomes almost useless because the lightning bolt rarely hits the intended target. To address this, there should be an option or support gem to prevent the arrow from piercing enemies. Without such an option, the skill loses its viability later in the game.

Let me know that you think!

Yeah that pierce interaction is wild.

One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.
+1. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to implement this skill but it’s so hit or miss that as of now there are better options to use.
perfectly explained

This might be hard to believe but hear me out. What if... You dont use pierce.
Or even better use frostwall to shotgun woooo
The first hit it's the one that should get the rod for the lighting to fall, unless it already got one, then it could go with the piercing arrow to the next one, I believe that would make it useful and make people add it to their builds.
I like Stormcaller Arrow for Single Target and it also works rly well for killing packs if you have bigger AOE, shock and Herald of Thunder.

Shoot multiple projectiles and wait until every mob in the pack melts.

It does not need to pierce. If you want pierce ur better of w/ Lightning Arrow. or other Lightning skills.
