Died in hardcore maps, map deviced disabled upon transfering to softcore.

Hello as the titles states I died during hardcore maps and now I wish to continue on my character in softcore. Problem being, my map device is disabled and doesnt let me interact with it. I've tried going through the campaign to see if there are any ways I can re-unlock maps to no avail.

Has anyone had the same issue and been able to fix it?
