Don't remove additional content/events from maps after death
|
Please don't remove additional content/events from maps (like boss, expedition, corruption etc.) after death. That extra content is what makes endgame more interesting and adds variety to an otherwise extremely repetetive experience. To me these events are what makes the endgame interesting and losing them if I die once (and there are so many random deaths in this game!) seems really pointless to me as you just remove that extra interesting content (that you worked hard on) from the game, making the game more boring for no reason. Each map is just "go and kill all monsters, rinse and repeat" and these events add variety and keep the player engaged and excited and interested. I really can't understand why on earth you would remove content from your own game just because someone died once. It is super frustraring when I go through 5 maps with no events in a row and I don't die and then I get to a map with an expedition and I'm like "yay! finally something exciting" and then I die to some random stuff and boom, no expedition for me, another 3-4 maps with no extra content again...
I already lose my waystone, lose XP, lose any loot left on the ground, lose precursor tablet bonuses for that map. Why make me lose extra fun content on top of that? Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 8:50:19 AM

The amount of player punishment in this version of PoE is baffling and off-putting.
Punitive does not equal challenging. Why are you making it so unrewarding to LEARN the game? Why is making a mistake in a leisure activity being treated like failing the bar exam? Where did you get the notion that this was game-enhancing? This does not create eustress; it creates distress. Honestly, it all feels like a middle finger to the community and does NOT build up the big payoff dopamine hit later when you overcome this challenge. Many players will quit with lingering bad feelings about PoE before the payoff you think this is building up for them ever arrives. This feels beyond bad. It feels intentionally abusive and cruel. |

" Yeeah it's pretty weird. This whole game's design seems to be based on "slow, tedious gameplay and overtuned oneshots=difficulty". The moment the first real league launches and this game is f2p on steam so many players will quit during campaign lol, and even if they get to maps they will only be even more disappointed by the overly harsh death penalty. |

I think they should keep the penelties for dying, but return the white version of a map to the player.
I don't mind losing "opportunity" for extra rewards. I do mind losing the chosen difficulty I want to play at. what if I WANT to push myself? I play for a bit and die. then I am forced to play at a lower difficulty. imagine if dark souls locked you out of a difficulty because you died at a boss. that's just backward design. |
