sacrificial heart disappear

I didn't know exactly what kind of spot it wanted me to go to to use the sacrificial heart, so I was messing around with something that looked promising, it didn't work trying to right click how some other quest item worked so I tried dropping it on the ground and it just immediately disappeared. So I am out 2 passive skill points now.

So try not to drop your sacrificial hearts at all they may just disappear.
