Spec'ing out of Sorcery ward destroyed attached support gems

Was messing around with respeccing my ascendancy points out of sorcery ward, and forgot to remove my gems before hand. When the skill disappeared so did all 4 gems that were socketed. They didn't get spit out into my inventory or stash, they just vanished completely. I have a decent surplus of gems on hand so its not a huge loss, but thats definitely not the way it should work. The game should try to put them in my inventory at a minimum, and in the case the person doesn't have space spit them on the ground. It just outright destroyed the 4 gems socketed in the skill.
