Cannot Select Second Armor Socket When Placing Rune while Using Controller

When attempting to socket runes into armor with two sockets while using a controller, if the armor is equipped, scrolling over the armor selects the left socket.

Pressing right does not allow me to select the right socket.

The only workaround I've found was putting the armor into the inventory, then scrolling onto it from the right side rather than the left, which initially selects the right socket.
