Witch Demon Form - Crash to Login Screen

When I try to cast the Witch's Demon Form ability I instantly crash to the login screen. My character appears in character selection in Demon Form, and is in the form when I login. Switching back to normal form crashes me as well. I did a driver update last night and it seemed to fix it for that play session but when I login today it has started crashing again.

I am also crashing to login when I try to unequip and reequip one of my Rings, my Helmet, Wand and Sceptre.

I have tried removing Mtx Cosmetics, verifying game files, removing Vitality support gem.
Graphics Drive Update, Reducing Minion Variety to a single type (Storm Mages) crash persists.

I"m also having similar problems.

Having a similar problem, game instantly crashes (or getting an unexpected disconnect if game isn't paused) whenever I touch the demon form button, sometimes it also crashes when I allocate/dealocate demon form, regardless of which area I'm in.

I think I figured it out for my case. The crash happens if both demon form and infernal hound are allocated (not necessarily active) and I try to either equip my amulet OR I have the amulet equipped and start/stop demon form (which I assume is because demon form triggers an item check to update your stats).

My first theory was that the amulet has +3 level of all minion skills and that somehow triggers a bug with the infernal hound, but i tried it with another +3 minion amulet and it doens't cause the crash.

I think you are on to something. I had Infernal Hound active as well as Demon Form slotted. The ring that is causing me to crash when I reequip it is giving me +4 to all attributes and that + 4 is what I need to be able to run the Sceptre I have equipped, with + X to minion level.

I see that your amulet is giving +22 to all attributes, is that allowing you to meet the requirement for a different gear piece or some ability maybe? Seems like something verifying those stats is going wonky.

I was able to fix my crashes with your ideas by removing the ring and then the sceptre (can't meet requirements w/o ring). I am able to consistently use Demon Form with those items removed.

One thing I did find, is it may not be all + X to minion gear, my helmet still has + 1 to Minion skill level and it works while equipped.

So I did some experimenting with this issue myself and found that it was indeed a skill gem. Skeletal snipers. If i have skeletal sniper gem anywhere in my skills, the game crashes when demon form comes. Even if no skeletal snipers are allocated at all and the skill isn't even active. As long as that gem remains in my tree the game will crash. This makes me sad as they are my highest level right now.
