Gathering Storm buff was welcome but needs more :’)

I’ve been really enjoying using gathering storm and have spent most of my late campaign and early mapping putting together a gathering storm build. It can clear maps relatively well but bosses are where it tends to suffer, I can understand if the skill is meant as a mapping tool but when compared with the other map clearing tools the monk has access to, (eg. shattering palm, charged staff, storm wave, tempest flurry, ice strike, tempest bell, flicker strike) the skill is cumbersome to use. All these other skills clear maps way faster than gathering storm and the only reason to use gathering storm is if one likes the skill, or else there doesn’t seem to be a place for the skill, it lacks the damage to be a meaningful boss killer, and while it does do excellent damage for clearing maps, it doesn’t perform any better than the other tools at the monks disposal, in fact, worse by a fair margin.

A suggestion I would have is to make the added +0.8 second attack time affected by attack speed and skill speed. These buffs also already apply to the already better performing monk skills and it just doesn’t seem fair for gathering storm to not. I really really enjoy using gathering storm despite its drawbacks, but it would be so much more fun and enjoyable if it we had the ability to speed it up with support gems and frenzy tech. This suggested change does also mean some investment in frenzy generation and valuable attack speed support gems that are normally very important elsewhere in builds so I think it would still be fair and would in no way over tune gathering storm. Really hope this can be addressed.

One last thing is just my own curiosity as to what role the skill is supposed to take. If I could be helped to understand it’s current role and intended purpose, it would also sate my need for a buff : )
