Wildshards and Ember Fusillade nerf?

Wildshards no longer spawns and fires Ember Fusillade projectiles around you, but it still does for Fireball. It's a huge AOE and burst nerf to EF. Is this intended?

Going to say its a bug. The support skill gem tooltip says it works with embers.
