Trial of Sekhemas Floor 4 Boss

To whoever designed that boss and thought it's a good plan, especially since its a requirement for the last ascendancy, please play it with a regular character and try not to lose your shit on it.
Why is it a good idea to have an area full of projectiles that you have to dodge and get more and more mechanics added to this? Why does it need to have turrets, puddles that stun lock you, boss projectiles, giant AoE projectiles, even more projectiles that move in weird patterns and a return mechanic on top of all of that just so it puts back into a spot that is no longer safe? This fight is a complete clusterfuck of mechanics with little to no cohesion and is not fun at all. Lycia was a much better final boss, punishing mechanics that actually give you a chance to respond to rather than throwing a tantrum and deciding to throw more shit at you just because you've managed to somehow deal with all the previous bullshit. How is PoE 2 supposed to be different than PoE 1 when we are still expected to make ridiculous builds that one shot bosses so we don't have to deal with mechanics? Rant over, but in all seriousness if you want to make a boss that is mechanically challenging don't also make it a damage sponge with about 10 million HP. Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 3:13:21 PM

The third floor isn't much better.
Made it to the boss, after 45 minutes of carefully going through each room to go in with Maximum Honor. 3k Honor, get 1 shot. Sanctum is the complete anti-thesis mechanic to PoE's entire defensive system (Multiple layers synergizing to allow you to survive the end game). The only realistic way to beat santum is to go almost full evasion/Glass cannon and just delete bosses. It was a niche mechanic you devoted an entire build/passive tree/character to doing. It was entirely optional and left to those who chose to farm it for currency. While Izaro/Argus and the Trials weren't perfect by any stretch, it was still much better than forcing sanctum on a player base, that hates the mechanic. I'm a Gas Arrow Deadeye poison build, level 80, in a level 65 sanctum, floor 3 was horrendous, and I got to the boss somehow all my honor intact, just to get 1 shot by a mechanic that I couldn't even tell what happened. I can only imagine how much fun this is going to be on my Thorns Warrior build.... I made it to the 1st boss, but none of his attacks are Blockable, they're ALL AOE damage. So, I can't return damage without being chunked, nor can I do more damage from range. The entire philosophy is flawed as it puts defensive/tanky and Melee characters at an insane disadvanted just based on the innate roguelike gameplay. I mean, how are you expected to deal with this? You can't pause the fight so I wasn't able to get the screenshot when I died but the were a second set of orbs around him, basically no way to avoid the whole spinny lightning bollocks he does
