Bugged interaction between Fireflower and The Wailing Wall

The Wailing Wall makes it so that you can "Block Damage from All Hits". Fireflower makes you take "100 Fire Damage when you Ignite an Enemy". I cannot block this damage even though it is a hit. I have tested Fireflower with other interactions, and it counts as a hit of fire damage. Edit, I have also tested this with the Parrying Motion notable and it doesn't provide me the benefits of blocking hits.
