Turtle Charm should not punish for actively blocking
The title. Right now if you take this node and max your block chance, you're much better of not trying to raise shield, because normally unblockable hits are the most dangerous. Make it so that you can still block all hits while the shield is raised, but for normally unblockable hits it still counts as if the shield was lowered.
I don't think it would be OP in any way because look, very few people actually use shields as 2 handers are just so much better. Last bumped on Dec 24, 2024, 9:11:35 AM

Turtle charm worries me.
Post 0.1.0d patch, since you can now passively block from all directions instead of just attacks aimed at the front, i immediately thought to myself "okay, what does turtle charm do now, besides cut your block chance by 35%?" I have not specced back into it to find out the answer. |

It works the same as the Acrobatics node, it allows blocking aoe abilities (slams in particular).
It's quite strong as there are many dangerous slams and other aoe hits that this can help against. |

" Oh. #$*& me then, that does seem worth going into. Also, with that knowlege, I'd hope they change things the way you're requesting. |

Honestly though, if you're going to use Turtle Charm, treat it like using the unique shield Wailing Wall.
The shield simply exists in your loadout, and you utilize no shield skills, not even raise shield. Don't even have them on your hotbar. |

It is time for a bump.
