PoE2 Loss of boss loot

I have had a repeated issue with losing boss loot because I have Mercenary grenade build. It's a close fight and the boss ends up killing me right before I kill them. My grenade goes off and kills them... They drop all sorts of loot and I resurrect back at a checkpoint only to come back and the only things that are left is the green first time permanent stat buff items. This has happened to me 2 separate zones in a row in act 3.

I would personally rather the boss reset and fight it again rather than it kill me, my grenade kill it and then I lose out on all the drops. It's unbelievably aggravating to continuously lose boss drops just because I lost a close fight.

Edit: potentially make player attacks disappear after they die?

I think a solution to this could be a different resurrect button. That's always been a thing in poe1. One button resurrects you with the boss dead and loot gone, so at least you can progress if you want. Another resurrects you but leaves the boss alive if you really want that loot and want to try killing him correctly next time.

But maybe this is not going to work in multiplayer.
This could work too. I edited my OP suggesting that player attacked disappear after death, but a choice would be ideal. As you mention it may not be viable in multiplayer. I know in the grand scheme of things first run loot is not huge, but it still has an impact on progression when you miss out on piles of rare and unique items
