Visual clarity should be fixed asap, on death effects invisible
The visual clarity is just non-existent. You guys have made PoE 2 into some really pretty and visually stunning eye candy, but that came at a cost of visual clarity (and for some random reason FPS whenever there's a lot of fire trail effects involved).
I have died back to back to a different on death effect that had little to no audio telegraph and I couldn't see it due to all kinds of stuff layered on top of the ground. I lost my map bosses, waystone progression was set back, and I just feel defeated. Can't imagine how peeps in HC must feel when they die to something that they couldn't see. Don't take me wrong, I love the punishment of death, don't make that easier. But for the love of god, screw the visual eye candy and force any and all on death effect to the foreground. Or just remove that shit entirely, literally nobody likes it anyway. At some point it's just better to take the sick beloved (hated) family member behind the barn and put a round (mag dump the ass) between it's eyes. Last bumped on Jan 11, 2025, 9:53:27 AM

When a rare dies while mapping all I see is a bunch of wriggling tentacles. Because of this my warrior immediately flees and I hit my health flask button. Every. Time.

Yep.
The only time I have ever died in maps it is ALWAYS due to random on death effects that are fucking impossible to see, or getting 100-0 insta by some random white mob off screen shooting 8393 projectiles at me instantaneously. ~ Seph

Please get rid of the on death effects. I'm tired of losing a map because I'm in a middle of dodge rolling after an attack and i die because of the rares on death effects they can have sometimes. If u want to keep that in, then at least make it so you don't lose the map when u die. I'm nearly fed up with this mechanic.

What if you made the character invulnerable to on death effects when dodge rolling? I can imagine that helping to solve a bunch of issues.

Make all on death ground effects bright glowing neon if you have to, I dont care if it screws the aesthetic, it is absolutely the most frustrating way to die and feels completely unfair pretty much every single time.
This is currenctly one of the biggest problems in the game and you need to address this urgently. My preferred option would be to remove 90% of them, but if you arent willing to do that at least stop us from having to play the guessing game of "I wonder if that bit of ground that looks exactly like the other surrounding bits of ground is going to kill me for no explicable reason".
