Crashes, crashes and more crashes to Desktop
|
Its ridiculous that i still try to play the game after that many crashes.
I switch areas... Crash To Desktop, i watch skill videos... CTD, i try to unstack scrolls of wisdom... CTD, i get close to the townportal in act 1... CTD. The thing is, i might play for several hours some day, but when it crashes, regardles of where the game crashed, city or in the wilds, i am not able to play for some time, because after a crash, the game keeps crashing instantly in the loading screen after character selection. Selecting a different character results in the same behavior. CTD It feels like the instances get instable, but on the other hand, when it crashes at porting back into the instance and i log back in the next day, the loot i thought i lost is still there. So the instance seems to be the same as before. No Map reset. The other thing is, this would not explain why even other chars crash on selection. The most frustrating crashes are those when i am in the inventory in town or when i get something to drink and on return the game is closed, so when there is no active interaction from my side. Edit: And there is no error message or other hint i could forward regarding what happened. If i would know how to provide more insight about those crashes, i would do. What i have tried so far: - removing the appdata folder of PoE2 - clearing DirectX shader cache trough windows cleanup - updating nvidia drivers (566.36) - uptating windows (22H2 19045.5131) - verifying game data through steam - using the stand alone client - reinstalling the game - restarting the PC after those actions - using mouse and keyboard instead of controller - changing the renderer - reducing the graphic settings to low - checked for heatspikes with HWMonitor - ran 3DMark Stresstests My system specs: - Asus RoG Strix Z790-F Gaming Wifi - Intel Core i9 13900KF @ 3GHz (UEFI already fixed to Intel voltage recommendations to stabilize the system) - 4x Kingston KF560C40-16 - Nvidia Geforce RTX4090 Last edited by Mumpitzmaster#3216 on Dec 15, 2024, 10:25:33 PM Last bumped on Dec 23, 2024, 7:32:57 PM

Having the exact same issue with similar specs, no solution so far

I've now played for the whole day on a laptop (HP Omen 15-dh1770ng) without a single crash. It has definitely the worse specs, but less issues.
But its not fun playing on 1080p on 15" compared to the 4k on 85". This is NOT a solution. Just a workaround, because i realy want to play. As for the duration after i can play again after a crash on my PC, it seems like around the 5 minute mark. Sometimes it takes less than a minute to crash again just standing in town after login. And i would say the majority of initial crashes happen in town. With higher graphic settings it seems the GPU needs to work harder in town, because the fans are winding up, as soon as i get into it. |

I have nearly the exact same build and same problems. At some point, after a few crashes, it crashes just loading the game. I crash getting in TP, I crash learning a skill or disenchanting items, I crash on some locked scenes or change of area, I even crashed a few times fighting bosses. It is really not fun at all. People say the game is infuriating because of it's difficulty, buth I find it infuriating just because of the nonstop crashes so far.

" That Laptop is Windows 10 Native right? I was on the ASUS TUF-F15 (DASHF15) and it bricked my GPU, i'd love to send the GGG employees the logs. But to be honest i'd rather send them the bricked laptop as proof if it helps I just need a mailing address - New Player for Early Access

Out of curiosity, i tried a solution from one of those PC freeze topics today.
1. Start PoE2 2. Open the Taskmanager 3. Go to the details tab and search for the .exe 4. right click and change the affinity I just removed CPU0 and CPU1 from the list, and had not a single crash after this. Without changing the affinity, it still crashes. Sometimes right after loading, causeing the usual crash on loade scenario. For me, this is at least a workaround i can play with. I hope this helps others as well. |
