Currency Exchange NPC infinite loop and Trading unbalance
|
Going to start this by saying i am a new player and i don't know if this was the same on POE1, GGG said they want to be careful with the currency drop, so that's why i am confused.
I suppose more than a few are aware that you can make an infinite loop of profit with the Currency Exchange NPC by trading a certain series currencies, and we can do it because players are able to ask whatever amount of currency for another one. The value of the currency is not clear, this is like one person saying "hey give me 20 USD and i will give you 5 Euros" if we repeat this we can just generate infinite money, with the Exchange NPC this is more or less the same, and gold doesn't really matter. This completely breaks the economy of the game, now you don't feel happy because you got some rare drop or stat that you needed, because you can just buy it with your endless amounts of orbs. Just in case im not going to mention the loop path, but with just 1 exalted orb and gold, you are able to multiply it as many times as you want by trading a series of different currencies. There will be a point where i run out of gold and i can't do it anymore, so it is not a broken, right? Well, after you have let's say 20 exalted orbs, you can use just 1 orb to buy an absurd amount of blue orbs to augment NORMAL items you get dropped from maps and sell them and make gold so fast that you will get bored. Because now you have your new shiny gear that you got with all those juicy exalted orbs, so you just melt everything in your path. Tired of making profit? You can even make more, by using the POE trading site, where people charge lets say 5 times more for the same item, so you can sell it for half that and still win, because some players don't even know the Currency Exchange NPC exists or they didn't get to ACT1 chaos difficulty, this is completely unbalanced. Currency value should be determined by GGG and not players, this or trading should be limited in some way. Either way, you should look into fixing this because the economy will be ruined and people will not like it if you wipe their inventory. I want to play a fair game. This is called arbitrage, and the great thing is, it fixes itself and corrects the market.
