Blood Mage + Hexblast Bugs
|
Blood Mage Ascendency bugs:
- 12% increased critical hit chance for spells is additive not multiplicative for certain spells, hexblast for example. - Gore Spike: The additional crit damage does not update in UI and does not seem to be applying to chaos damage spells such as hexblast. I.E the 30% damage bonus my current bonus *should* be is not applying. - Life Remnants: Certain spells that are either persistent or multiple projectiles such as bonestorm or flamewall can negate the 2 second cooldown crit spawn. Additionally, the enemy modifier preventing life recovery above 50% includes this ability, giving 0 overflow life and any life at all above 50% when near this enemy. - Vitality Syphon: The 10% spell damage leech is not accurate. A 4000 damage hexblast explosion only leeches 100-200 life. (This isn't even mentioning the prior smaller notable also buffing leech) Additionally, certain chain effects such as impending doom or the additional detonations hexblast gives 0% life leech. Unsure if this affects other chain abilities such as DD however. - Hexblast Bug: The detonation damage is not going through enemy energy shields, even though it is pure chaos damage and should be ignoring it. Additionally despair is not providing additional damage due to enemy lower chaos resistance. I assume this is due to the curse being "consumed" first prior to calculating actual damage, however this also includes when blasphemous is continuously applying despair, no additional damage is being provided. Side Note: I have yet to test whisper of doom for the additional curse to see if hexblast is correctly consuming both for additional damage. However this will be test later. Tested Whisper Of doom: Hexblast does NOT consume both curses, rendering it pointless..

I just tried detonating two curses and it indeed does not detonate them both.
Don't know if this is intended but the provided video on the skill would suggest that it should detonate twice for damage with two curses. Looking at the debuff bar while hexblasting shows it only detonating one of the curses applied. |

0.1.0d Patch Notes - 12 December
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2694490/view/604142324070481921 General Improvements and Changes: Updated the description on Hexblast to clarify that it only detonates a single Curse per Enemy in its radius. So think about how much the developers don't care that they don't correct their own changes in the game. |

This is amazing because reading the hexblast description in game doesnt even imply that. Even if they did change as they claimed (didnt see prior description) the current one doesn't imply it only detonates one curse. Incredible.

" Man, this is not the POE 1. 1. Monsters have leech protection depending on their level. 2. Chaos damage dont ignore the energy shield, but deals double damage to it. 3. Resistance cannot be reduced to less than 0. Only to impose Exposure. Last edited by SpyGa75#3573 on Dec 17, 2024, 8:34:11 AM

"Have leech protection" a hidden stat than can't be seen, something a large majority of the player base doesn't know even exists on top of the lack of leech existing in the first place. Expecting one of the only leech skills (An entire ascendency notable) working as intended is indeed asking too much as you have pointed out apologies.
Chaos damage no longer ignoring energy shields is a terrible design choice and lack of consistency with other chaos abilities (such as poison) going through energy shields as well. This is disregarding that monster chaos damage ignores energy shield as well. Even if this isn't considered a "bug" the fact remains of its inherently weak state due to this "design choice." Resistance cannot be reduced to less than 0. Ok? I didn't realize I said that or even implied that? Strange thing to bring up, something that has nothing to do with any of the bugs I stated. At most its in relation to despair? If so your implying all monsters have 0% chaos resistance by default making despair pointless. Which I assume your not however if you are, I hope you understand that's incorrect. On a separate note, this was all tested without the "withered" debuff being applied. Withered does reduce chaos resistance, as such if I was using it at all and was also using despair I would then understand the lack of continued scaling damage and state as such. Alas I wasnt. If you dont want hexblast to be decent thats fine, but please understand that several interactions are bugged and not working properly as I previously laid out. Even without a buff, those bugs should at least be addressed. |
