Invoker - Elemental Expression should have a hit tag.

Elemental Expression from Invoker-Monk goes through four hit related ascendency points and needs a critical hit to trigger but it does not scale with hit damage. It should have a hit, attack or something tag to be usable.
Right now it lacks raw damage, utility or scalability. Since it "costs 4 points" it should be strong or we should be able to make it strong.

My quarterstaff strike has 1550 dps without any support gem and my Elemental Expression has 140 dps. It is ridiculous

Or better yet, allow it to trigger with spell criticals too so it can make a spell-casting invoker viable. If you add a hit tag then the monk really is just a pure melee build and nothing else can be done.
I don’t think it needs to do heavy damage, it’s good supplemental damage that can be triggered reliably with a good crit chance. What it needs is a cost overhaul- I think having it trigger off of energy buildup like CoC or Invocation would be best, as it would synergize with energy production that Invokers like.

I’ve been testing it in my CoC build and though it actually does pretty well, the cost is substantial to maintain. My build has a 100% crit chance on attack utilizing Wyrm Staff unique.

For perspective, my EE hits for about 2700 damage per trigger and crits about 40-50%. It contributes to CoC energy gain when it crits, but costs 290 mana per trigger.

That sort of damage is completely irrelevant.

Its either 100k or bust.
It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth -
playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp.

Ok 2700 damage per use with a 4x crit multiplier triggering 4 times per second with a 100% crit chanc on attack, supplementing Cast on Crit energy generation with every creature it hits with a critical strike is much more than 2700 DPS. I’m saying that the tooltip shows Damage per use estimated at 2700 damage, but it results in much more.
