Pathfinder Needs More Defensive Options

While Pathfinder's improved access to flasks in PoE 1 made them very defensive, despite no direct options, flasks do not provide defences in PoE 2. Despite this, and the fact that DoT requires more defensive options (because it often takes longer to kill things), Pathfinder has no defensive ascendancy passives. While more flasks might help restore health, that doesn't help when you're being oneshot.

Even Deadeye, who is purely hit-based and can off-screen enemies, gets 150% evasion and 30% less damage taken from hits.

Problem:
Pathfinder has no defensive options in their ascendancy, despite being a slower ascendancy.

Solution:
Add a passive to the effect of: "1% less damage taken per 500 evasion rating if you have been affected by a flask recently" or "Gain guard on flask use" based upon the life/mana (less/more if you life or mana flask) the flask provides (Should be able to use it if at full health, not much help against one-shots if I can't be at full health when I use it).

Not going to actually disagree with "add another option".
If it's there it's there. People will spec into it or not at build preference, may as well let them choose.

I'm still gonna ask though, if they did add a line of defensive nodes to the pathfinder tree, would you actually pick them anyway?
I bet I wouldn't.
I don't even take the flasks. No points left for it. And I don't believe I ever took the flasks in PoE1 either.

My first 4 points go straight into the poison line, 5 & 6 go to the added passive tree points. The last 2 I'll probably use to get Running Assault.

I think I would, I've taken many evasion nodes attempting to survive maps, to no dice. I mean, it could fit on a pre-existing passive node, the 50% more flask charges passive would work. Even if I don't take it though, at least that would be of my own volition, being given so many evasion nodes and still being blown up in T1 maps feels really bad.

I also think the poison line should be swapped, spreading poison doesn't make any sense in Act 2 given how little poison damage deals at that point. But that's for a different forum post.

EDIT: But yeah, I haven't even tried the 3rd ascendancy, nothing in the tree will do anything for me, so what's the point? I don't need more flasks, I don't need more passives and I definitely don't need to run faster.

Regarding the matter of evasion and dying, I'd ask if you've grabbed the acrobatics meganode in the passive tree?

Many, so many, most attacks are technically some form of aoe or other form of "not a hit that targets you", and as such cannot be evaded. Unless you have acrobatics.

Yeah I have tried it, I just can't get enough evasion to make it feel good. I could evade 80% of strikes/projectiles and die to everything else, or die to 40% of absolutely everything.

Look, maybe I just haven't got enough evasion on my gear to make it worthwhile, maybe I just need to go out and buy a good body armour from someone. I'm just struggling to find any gear with good evasion and life. Also feels kinda shitty that the: crazy movespeed, off-screen clear and barely even see a monster let alone get hit class, deadeye, gets defensive options while pathfinder doesn't.
Really started a new thread cause you can't dodge slams, huh? Nothing wrong with pathfinder or evasion, the game's balanced around dodging telegraphed moves, that's why they have sound and visual cues.

In my experience, 40% odds with acrobatics is more helpful than 80% without it.
Dodging nearly all attacks of a certain category doesn't mean so much when almost no attacks are in that category.
