Frequent pausing
|
I saw a few threads with the same issue, but I wanted to address this myself. After finally reaching act 3 I started to get serious lag spikes which caused my game to constantly pause itself. My ping typically stays around 27 to 30 consistently and i managed to get through the first 2 acts without encountering this issue. Unfortunately I am on a wireless connection, but I don't have any latency/ping issues in other games, and i noticed that lots of players were experiencing this. I also want to add that I'm experiencing this in both POE1 AND POE2, but any other online game in my steam library is fine. If you guys know a solution please let me know. I've already tried disabling dynamic resolution, changing renderers, restarting the game, and even my wireless connection. finally, i hope you see this devs and address a fix. Thank you!

I am currently having the same issue. The lag spikes (sometimes accompanied with the "game paused" message showing up) started this past weekend and have continued for the past several days.
I'm running a 7800x3d, 4080 super, and 32 gb RAM. The game ran beautifully for the first several days. Then this weekend it started running poorly. I've seen that it may have something to do with internet stability, but I haven't noticed any meaningful jitter in my internet signal. Any thoughts from the devs would be terrific! |

most games rely on the client to do calculations and stuff, in poe everything is calculated on the server. that's the reason ggg is more dependent on a constant connection to the servers than other games.
playing on wireless is not recommended cause you rely on your neighbours not switching on their devices, electronic equipment in your neighbourhood functioning correctly and military and governmental radio stuff not temporarily blocking frequencies. --- the game has two network modes: lockstep and predictive. in lockstep the game verifies on the server that the movement / action you're about to do is possible before it's executed, in predictive it lets you do what you wanna do but rolls it back if it turns out it wasn't possible. look it up on the ingame options age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
