Remove the cost of refunding passive skills.

Hey there.

I'm enjoying POE2 a lot but I'm running into a massive issue.
My build is terrible.

I am down to my last penny in-game and I cannot refund my current build.

It would improve the game significantly if we could modify our passive skills without being forced to play the game with a bad build. I do not feel very incentivized to continue playing the game if I cannot have any freedom to adjust my character/class any way I'd actually want.

I do not have time to farm 200k gold - only to create another build that might be terrible and forces me to repeat the process of farming gold with another terrible build. And when I do have time, I do not want to spend it farming gold.

I want to enjoy the game,
I do not want to do chores on the game.

Thanks for reading. I hope the game can improve.

Another solution would be; Refund the entire skill tree instead of 1 specific node. The cost can remain but for the love of god, reduce it and make it more appealing to everyone.
Maybe like once every few days give players an option to respec for free. It can't be entirely free because I can see people abusing it by making a specific build for something they really need atm and they could change a build like every 10 mins if they want.

However if the respec was free or significantly cheaper once every few days, or maybe once a week, it would give players easier way to experiment with various builds with no big punishment like paying tens of thousands of gold just to respec.
Yeah the system is awful. And i dont even get why - what is the advantage of limiting players like this?

I think especially a game like this needs a reasonable respec system otherwise what will happen is:
- casuals get scared away (system is complex and every mistake is expensive ...)
- ppl will mainly only play meta-builds
- if builds are nerfed it will feel like punishment and will probably make many ppl quit

I think a game with complex systems like this - which is great - needs to be forgiving when it comes to players experimenting with builds.

The least that the game should have is at least 1 free complete respec at max level.

But in general i would suggest to simply bind it to player gold:
- for example 2% of player gold but at least XY gold
That way it would also give players more incentive to use the gold.

Extremely good points, people will pivot towards only using meta-builds instead of experimenting and nerfing builds feel like a hard punishment.

I highly support the decision to adjust the refund cost to a % of a users' current balance.

Diablo 3 had a no-cost, swap-when-you-want build system, and it was honestly awful. Every Barbarian is just a Barbarian, not a Whirlwind Barbarian, Bash Barbarian, Leap Barbarian, or HotA Barbarian, because you could simply swap your build around at any moment, with no cost. It kinda ruined any sense of build identity. The whole process of planning out your leveling path for your build was non-existent.

I wouldn't care if they gave people one free respec during early access, though, after big balance changes.
