Can you make a separate league for non ruthless enjoyers???
Clearly there's a lot of division on how hard the game should be, and even being thousands of posts asking for considerably more loot, easier combat, etc are being somewhat ignored.
Yes, there was a patch for loot, but come on!!! Dream fragments is a VERY expensive unique!! That's because of the lack of player power Anyways, it's ok, half of the population doesn't want this... But... What if you could have the cake and eat it too GGG? Well, you can!!! Leave this "ruthless" league alone and create another one with the PoE1 complexity and rewards! I wanna be able to do the acts fast. I want movement speed. I want immortal builds. I want insane clear. I want alchemy orbs. I want so many goldrims that they are dirt cheap. I want many rares per map. I want to be able to finish the campaign playing with one hand. You think people won't like this? Try us!! Separate league :) what do you have to lose? Cordially, a PoE1 softcore enjoyer PS: I want to be able to finish a map in 6 tries. I want to be able to kill a boss without losing progression if I die. I want to pick up that unique that dropped but I died before I could grab it. Makes sense? Last edited by diego_garber#0088 on Dec 13, 2024, 5:13:22 AM Last bumped on Dec 13, 2024, 9:58:36 AM

i personally agree with what you say, i love being able to play PoE while watching some netflix or something else, i dont have to be hyperfocused on the game at all times, i can just lean back and smile a little when i hear the divine drop sound, unfortunately POE2 feels more like the Elden Ring experience currently for me, which i kinda like, but for a different reason than why i love PoE1. If this course of the game continues, thats fine aswell, but then its just not for me (atleast not to replace PoE1s grind every league)
I guess we will just have to wait and see, theres a lot of "casual story gamers" (no insult guys) talking about how this game is perfect, cuz its hard, youre not getting shit for free etc, but those guys will probably never be in the spot to do all this struggle every other league just to get to endgame or they dont even care about endgame and PoE2 will be a one and done game for them. i like the game, it plays nice, it looks clean, but some mechanics are not for me, if i want to hyperfocus on dodging spammy bosses ill just play elden ring |

No, this game is not a reskinned version of POE1.
Several quad tabs full of loot And too many gems that you can actually use, never having to worry about getting any specific one as you have them all. Stop saying it’s ruthless, it’s nothing like ruthless For reference here’s aome reading material on ruthless: https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Ruthless_mode |

They did, OP. In fact they made an entire game for people who want easy and mindless gameplay paired with extreme build depth; it's called Path of Exile.

" Your first point is... Well... On point! It's exactly what the devs said when announcing PoE2, that it's going to be a different experience from the first game, which is why they're gonna keep developing both. No need for different leagues when you actually have both games and can pick your poison. For your second point, I don't think you get our mindset. We're not planning on struggling every time, but learning from each playthrough until we decode the difficulty to where beating it becomes second nature. I expect my first playthrough, in a game I picked up for the first time and don't understand yet, to be tough. If I can already no-sweat it, then there's really nothing to learn, just copy an end-game build and grind away. That's what'll make me move on after the first season. It's why I barely played PoE1 or D4. Meanwhile, I stuck with Diablo 2 for years and still come back to it every so often, even though the game was murdering me on normal as a kid. |

" The endgame feels exactly like reskinned version of POE1 with just much less loot. The difficulty decrease drastically after aout act 1-2 cruel. And we are again forced to do fast celaring zoom zoom builds due to time limited game mechanics like deliruim and breach. |

" i agree. end game needs a lot of work and they need to no contradict the game. you want us to be slow and have thoughtful playstyle, but you put league mechanics that encourage us to go fast and blast. which one is it GGG? can't we just have thee breach open and stay open until we kill all the mobs. and delirium never runs out unless you turn it off? |

" you know that the whole game don't stop to contradict what they say... a few example: - "we don't want to make necromancer because we don't want to be the go to for minion build" and now we have? infernalis, mostly because it the less complicate for play minion build with, but in the end we barely use the skill of the occult skill list because they are not used by any ascendancy. witch have about 80% of the her spell that are minion... can't we have ascendancy (multiple one) that are working with her spell... - "we don't want to nerf, but buff what is weak" and here we are after a few patch that did nerf to the ground a few stuff... and worst, that did broke build litterally, the nerf wasn't even think before done it. yes cast on frozen was strong, but freeze can't be apply as fast than shock or ignite, the fact to ask to the player to freeze 8-9 time a target for get a cast is insanity! - "we want a more active and challenging content" ok, but then why create a game that have the core of an arpg, where you will fight dozen of enemy often with multiple pattern that cover each other (yes i talk of utzaal) and make every enemy almost as hard than a boss of poe... you have very good and interesting boss (exept the one with the lava that was a dumb move that force player into some build and punish people if they don't play the good build) you take inspiration in the soullike but in this sort of game trash are not means to be challenging they are here for be an annoyance, boss are the main challenge. - "we want people to experience and try different build" and you put some hard stop that make people unable to experience difference stuff, want some example? the price of respect, the cost in spirit for pet forcing you to use scepter (and when you change of weapon you loose the pet link to the scepter), the fact that some skill are link to the weapon (forcing people to invest in stats that are maybe not them main stats for use a decent weapon), the different nodes between the sorceress and the witch the first line on the left of the talent tree change depending of your starting class, if i did wanted to play a sorceress minion build chronomancer i loose this minion stats that the witch have at the start.... and on and on and on. they don't stop to contradict themself... i feel they have no clear view of what they want for some stuff, like minion or ascendancy. even the fact to make the campaign longer, normal enemy soo annoying for nothing while the campaign is only a big tutorial, we will need to redo it every league and honestly i don't want to redo it... challenge is a thing, making hard for no good reason when the main goal is the endgame... it's silly. ps: i didn't even touch the fact that enemy respawn when you die... that is not a good idea... reset the whole area at each death is a good way to create frustration and not fun... because we play video game for fun, soul like are fun because they are rewarding and i don't feel rewarded by poe 2 actually. not enough loot, no enough diversity, respect too costly |
