Could we get aiming point correction for ranged skills and attacks in PoE2?

Currently in PoE2, projectile attacks and skills use the mouse cursor to choose a point on the ground and target a point in 3D space at a certain height above it. This creates an issue where, to reliably hit enemies without directly targeting them, you need to aim in a line from your position toward their feet, which feels a bit odd.

In PoE1, it was somewhat similar system, but I think there were fewer problems with it because of the heavy emphasis on projectile spam. Aiming accuracy was effectively solved by sheer projectile quantity. I’ve reached maps on Merc and tried out Ranger a bit, and it feels frustrating to frequently miss targets by a few degrees when aiming in line with their center mass, which, at least for me, feels like the natural thing to do.

Could we get a solution for this, preferably an optional one for those who are used to the current behavior? For example, having the ground as the aiming point when no mob is targeted or correcting for camera perspective would help.

responding because I thought I was taking crazy pills but nope, turns out others have experienced this
yip, would love to see settings for this too, now im forced to aim lower to dont miss?

Holy fuck I've posted multiple times on this and could never figure out WTF they were going for when they designed it and how the hell it made it through testing.

Agreed it's a trash system and at minimum they need to make an option to disable it. The projectile should go where I click, end of story, it's not rocket science.

Why in the everloving hell they thought it would be a good idea to design a projectile system such that you have to aim at every mobs feet to hit it is beyond me.
Chiming in. This is driving me so insane that I cant enjoy playing certain classes that rely on accuracy. Shooting at their feet just feels dumb.

It’s easier to implement and has worked before, so I wouldn’t blame them for it. I’m just hoping that pointing out it doesn’t work as well anymore will help direct some attention to this problem. (This is a bump)
I agree.

Also, when that is done, please make me understand where 'Perfect Strike' aims half of the time, because it sure isn't anywhere near where my cursor is :)
