Please Improve Stormblast Bolts Synergies

As it is, the skill feels really bad to use on a lightning crossbow build. It doesn't hit hard or have an ailment application bonus, so it has low utility in terms of applying shock or lightning exposure, but it isn't good enough at AoE or direct damage to be a main clearing skill either. It seems to rely on being detonated, but using explosive grenades or explosive shot for my lightning build would feel very cumbersome with my current loadout. I'll suggest a few changes that could be made.

My multiple suggestions; I think more than one is needed to make stormblast feel good to use, though not all of them or too many of them:

Make voltaic grenade and plasma burst detonators, or have built in synergies with stormblast if making them detonators is too risky or broad reaching.

Increase the damage, or innate shock chance of stormblast bolts.

Give stormblast bolts innate electrocute buildup (riskier than the others, but this skill needs love bad)

Increase the impact damage so it is usable without a detonator, improving playstyle choice.

Improve the number of base projectiles the skill launches.

Make galvanic shards lightning chain off of stormblast bolts, or detonate them.

Give stormblast bolts an innate lightning exposure effect, in parity with fire builds getting oil grenade. They have easy access to exposure for them, but not for lightning.

There are two directions to go with the skill: Utility focus (exposure, shock, electrocute), and damage focus, (Improving base damage, projectiles, more skills detonating and better, broader synergies).

Overall, I'm enjoying lightning crossbow a lot, I just want to see stormblast get some help since it seems like it is by far the most undertuned/awkward lightning crossbow skill in my personal experience.

I totally agree to this post. It should not have to be triggered by a detonator as you just don't have those in your "portfolio" as a lighting crossbow build. I tried it out when it unlocked, dropped it immediately and never looked back. It just felt so underwhelmingly bad.
Lightning crossbow could in general use some love compared to grenade builds.
