Trial of Sekhemas - Test of Will (Cruel)

I was doing the Cruel Trial of Sekhemas and reached the boss, managed to kill one and died to the second. I am a summoner and it was the first time I was running this trial. My minions killed the boss and it unlocked the "Test of Will" slots for the Relic Altar, even though I was dead.

I did not get the ascendancy points (expected), but I shouldn't have gotten the completion of Test of Will either.

I was just doing the Test of Will as well, reached the two bosses at the end, killed both of them at the same time, suddenly I got killed by some attack which wasn't even clear to see (some blue ice sparks suddenly appeared). Didn't get the ascension points and the loot was lost.

This is super frustrating!
