Magic items should have 3 modifiers, am i wrong?
I think having 3 mods on a magic item might improve the game.
Pros -promotes crafting over gambling early game. -able to target resistances more -with the abundance of augmentation shards this could help new players like myself learn to craft more. -regal orbs are not very common so far for me (act 3). Cons Possible power creep I new to the game and trying to find a downside to this. Last bumped on Dec 11, 2024, 8:18:43 PM

I don't think it has to be power creep it just redefines loot a little but the power stays the same in the end, Rares could still be capped at 6 mods. Have transmutes and augs work on 3, require an regal to get the fourth, and exalts for 5 and 6. This brings things into the same line of the new Alchemy orb design of alchemy turning gear into a 4 modifier rare. It would be a little early game power creep, but late game it wouldn't change a thing except the currency you use to craft with.

The idea is that blue item get to have 1 prefix and 1 suffix.
Adding a third mod would break that symmetry. |

You're kinda wrong in all points:
- Gambling early game on POE was nigh-nonexistant and the idea along with the gold change is that you gamble and actually get good stuff. - two good mods is really strong in this game. I went to cruel with a +3 +100% inc spell damage staff without finding anything better even if rares. - You get regals by vendoring rares, rares are more common now after the latest patch, they've never been more abundant than now. Plus you can now exalt slam much more carelessly. You're already reaping the benefits of a plethora of changes for you learn crafting. 3 mods in magic items would literally be easy mode for gearing. 3 good mods is almost BIS for many gear slots. Imagine achieving that with just augmentations, would render too many items useless and drop down the price on good rares by a ton. It'd also impact the content, trivializing it. |

Yeah I don't want to make the game easier, I thought this would be a good way to target resistances in early game. I don't think this is going to break trade or end game like you propose. This is for early game. I don't see people in maps wearing nothing but blues.
