Mighty Silverfist in Jungle Ruins miniboss
This unique monster fight needs a more private space to fight. The entire area around this spawn is full of enemies, so when you inevitably die to the boss and respawn at the checkpoint, you have to deal with all of the surrounding enemies at the same time you're trying to fight a very difficult boss encounter.
If you're going to keep respawning all of the enemies in a zone when the player character dies, then at least have some space where you can fight the miniboss without having those nearby enemies also agro and join in on the fight. Also, please tune this guy down. His line AOE slam is really wide and hard to avoid with a dodge roll and is an automatic one-shot kill. Last bumped on Dec 12, 2024, 4:47:20 PM

yes the boss this difficult due to guaranteed oneshot slam needs a clear uninterupted arena not tons of spawns around him that can include rares cluttering the fight
also the slam needs some sot of que because he has several moves that all look basically identical to the windup of the oneshot slam - some kind of sound or animation telegraph is needed for a move that is this fast and instagibbing less problematic is his roll that is ALMOST instakill and has no windup or tell whatsoever, he just instantly rolls and nearly kills you with no way to realistically avoid it |

While I'm not taking the game super seriously has anyone realized what the tell is before the slam??
Against normal bosses I can mess up a mechanic [usually two in a row] but against the monkey I'm normally oneshot. I don't notice a specific tell myself. Anyone found one yet?? Note: I guess I could record my gameplay and then rewatch. Not sure if I'm that serous about it though. Also playing my own build and likely paying for it as I haven't sat down with an Excel sheet and min-maxed everything the way I probably (?) should have. |

I think the problem is his checkpoint is in aggro range so you can't even portal out.

This spawnpoint is pointless here if the Boss immediately can attack you again. Also there are mobs around the area so you have to fight him and the mbos again. You cant run away from him because he has so much speed that he gets you most of the times. Sometimes even a rare enemy is nearby. Wtf is this.

I thought I was the only one having bad luck or something. I was stuck in an endless cycle of being 1-shot by that chonky ape, only to respawn and almost immediately get 1-shot again. After like 30 times trying to fight through it, I gave up and was just trying to run away, but no matter where I ran, he wouldn't quit chasing. Eventually I managed to make it to the door to next area to ditch him.
No fun at all lol. |

The easiest way I found to deal with him was to just be up his ass all the time and any time he would wind up, dodge roll behind or beside him.
Takes a bit to clear the mobs, easier if you have range, but if you can stay up his ass, soon as he winds up to swing, dodge, he ends up a bit trivial. This is in Normal, I dunno if he changes up in Cruel yet haven't gotten there. Last edited by Kerkain#4640 on Dec 12, 2024, 4:35:13 PM

The fight itself is fine, IMO. Telegraph for the 1-shot slam is a specific animation. I remember it being slow and distinguishable, not a problem if you're paying attention.
There are two problems though: - As others pointed out, adds from all over the place joining the kerfuffle, making it harder to pay said attention. This is because these are random, not curated for the fight. Can be magics, I even had a rare once. - The slam itself seems to have infinite range. I got slammed multiple times off-screen while clearing said adds. Ascend with precision.
