On-Death Effects & XP-Penalty

So i have been mapping for 2-3 days so far. And i would be willing to completely ignore all the things people are unhappy about (big maps, bunch of backtracking etc.) - but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, can we PLEASE finally get rid of the 700 on-death effects?

Now: i kinda get why you didn't want to remove them from poe1. People are blasting everything on the screen or even 2 screens around, so you wanted to add something, that could still pose a threat. Great - i can follow that logic, even though i don't like it anyway.

BUT: You already made poe2 slower and harder. I know, there might be broken builds that are still doing kind-of the same insane poe1 things - but so far it seems like you're trying to stomp those down, which is great.

So: Why do we still have the overwhelming amount of on-death-effects? It's insane. Sometimes they spawn on the mob corpse - othertimes they spawn under yourself. The purple ones especially (i believe its a mod on rare mobs?) - first you barely even see them, then they start to grow and glow and almost instantly explode and shotgun you out of existence (its like 6 of them at the same time). It's not a fun experience. It's borderline playable. It was annoying in POE1 - but if i got nuked there out of nowhere i still had my other portals left to finish the map. Here i spend 10min on a map, then some random rare nukes me out of existence and the map + loot + progression + XP is gone. I am very coutious on my maps. I don't insta run into pack of mobs and try to not group too many of them together. But since i started mapping, all my deaths were solely from on-death-effects. Even when i explicitly try to pay attention to them, i sometimes still can't see them until they insta light-up under me. Last time i even saw the mob having the mod, so i stayed away from it after it died - and what happened? Bunch of the explodes silently spawned under me, on a very dark corner in a maze-map under some fog, then they suddenly lighted up and insta exploded. 0 chance to react - even tho i was already anticipating it...

In my opinion you can only have one or the other. It's extremely frustrating and really doesn't add anything positive to the experience. The game is slower, the mobs deal more damage, maps brick after 1 death: we do not need on-death-effects anymore.

If i only had 1 "wish" to "fix" something about this game, this would be like ten-fold by far my pick. It's not even close.

Also on a side-note: with the same argument being that we already lose the map when dying - why do we still keep losing xp? This one is also sitting on my complaints list for a long time since poe1. All it does is preventing ppl from going into boss fights with more than 0% XP. Which also doesn't feel good, if you need to farm maps for another day, to get a lvl up, to finally be able to attempt a boss, that you will probably die to on your first try...But sure - you wanted to give us some kind of "punishment" for dying in POE1. Even there i would never complain on the forums/reddit. But we HAVE a punishment now - its losing the map and the rewards - please reconsider the XP-loss again.

To further magnify how big of a problem on-death-effects are: if i was presented the option of removing on-death-effects, but getting a double/triple XP-Penalty when dying - i would still pick that option without even blinking...

Played few more days - the on-death-effects are still as annoying and infuriating as they were. Just now, i was again nuked by a fire explosion (im res capped + 50% chaos btw.), that hid behind a pillar in the crypt map. Even on the replay, you can barely see it.

GGG please, this is not a fun system. You're currently applying MULTIPLE penalties for the same reason. You die = map leagues/bosses gone + waystone gone + XP lost + loot not picked up gone + still have to run the empty node to progress on the atlas.

This is not fun in any capacity. Please finally get rid of the on-death-effects. It's a trash mechanic that virtually nobody likes.

At this point im seriously considering to take a longer break from the game and see if this issue gets fixed. I barely die in maps/bosses from anything else than on-death-effects. When i do, that's fine, cause its my fault and i can see that. With on-death-effects you just wanna punch some1 in the face and start resenting the game. Come to your senses please...
