Trials of Sekhema feedback
|
I spent probably 2 hours doing multiple runs of this trial. I think for the most part, the reason why most people are having problems is that, they have no relics. Comparing my first run, traps and monster are doing huge chunk of honour lost per hit and getting hit by the slam of one of the Terracota twin took like 2.5k honour. My final run, I got some good relics and I think I was close to 80% honour resist and by this time, I didn't bother dodging the traps and normal monster do like 20-30 honour damage against my 6.5k honour except those chaos cloud since I don't have chaos resist at this point.
While I'm okay to farm these relics since rare monster do drop something,I think it'll be too tedious for other people to farm these relics just to make their run easier to ascend much less expect them to do a hitless run. I'm not sure if a suggestion of having relics drop outside of trials of Sekhema is the answer since unlocking the relic slot is also not going to happen for those people that do not want to engaged with this content aside from ascending. TLDR, the trial is very easy if you got the relics, even below average relics still makes a difference but the thing is, for people that just want to ascend, the entire process of is grueling. Oppressive tedium is what this game is aiming for and it does it spectacularly right now. Killing the trial boss but the environment damage takes away the last of your honor bar AFTER the boss died? Start over!
I have no doubt that people that achieved high levels might have easier time with alts over time with this game overall due to item economy and more resource availability, but first impressions matter and these barriers that punish players from the get go are enough to drive away a lot of players that are just starting that journey. | |

Both skhema and ultimatum are imbalanced, i just want to ascend, it could increase the hardress after people ascend.

I think the whole idea of ascending is supposed to be challenging as you gain a lot of power at the end, devs have made it clear they want POE2 to be this way
It seems expectations are from POE1 crowd that you should beable to just blast down like you do with Izaro and laugh through it all. I dont think thats what this game is aiming for sadly. |

" I agree with the first impression matter but base on the EA streams and interviews with Jonathan, POE 2 will also have leagues and if I look at this from a player who have many experiences with leagues, I can see this to be no more than a bit of annoyance. From a new players perspective, it could vary and the impression can go both ways, some will like the challenge while others won't. I get the feeling from the interviews and how they structured on how you ascend that they want the ascendancy to be so much more impactful like a spike in character power but sadly, a lot of ascendancy nodes did not translate to that character power as of now. |

I just spent an hour just to got one shot by end boss which was 12 levels lower than me, I was going to tell it and delete the game. Instead I'm gonna try this relic tactic, I hope it works. Game is good and I can play it with my friends but they implemented some mind blowing challanges that could make any player remove this game from their library in an instant.

I have good relics. I still hate trial. It's almost like honor loss is a brutally unfun mechanic to a lot of people. (And to say nothing of some of the poor melee builds right now dealing with this.) Also, your honor numbers are... what level are you? How much HP do you have? Cause at several levels higher than the trial asks for, I don't have anywhere *near* the 6.5k you're talking about.

what im asking myself...there was a closed beta test, didnt GGG get any feedback about this "system"? the trials in poe2 makes me wish the boring lab back

I wonder whoever though that this honor mechanic is fair towards melee classes should be forced to play Sekhema trial as warrior for a year. Did actually someone tried it or they just pulled it out of the hat randomly and said that this is the most fun way to do it? When you are melee you ARE GOING TO BE HIT and introducing a mechanic, where you are punished for being hit is just ridiculous at least. You cannot even get honor back after you beat a level, you get sacred water. I have tons of sacred water but no way to use it before my honor runs out. Even choosing between 40% damage debuff / no honor refreshing possibility / 5% damage to HP+ES per hit taken is "great" concept ... Yeah very funny. I wonder how many players enjoy this and were able to do Sekhemas on their own at the level it's first unlocked as a melee.

The trial of ascendancy sekhemas edition fills me with rage. I hate it with the burning hot passion of a 1000 suns. I over leveled. I did practice runs with lower level tokens. I farmed relices. I was defeated over and over by bullshit.
The last attempt (#4 for those counting at home), the first random penalty I get is the mirror one that "randomly" chooses which room you advance to. If by random you mean, select all the worst rooms. I think I had amassed 15 penalties before I failed at the 3rd boss. Of course, because the rooms were chosen at random, I never got the chance to clear that stupid mirror penalty. I have now failed this trial 4 times. I'm done. I can't do it and I refuse to buy it from another player. Get rid of the bullshit penalties and reduce the power of the boons if necessary, but DO something to fix this. I'm not opposed to it being removed it completely, including removing the ascendancies if necessary. I hate it that much. Also it is waaaaaay to long. Shorten this thing up. I don't want to have to clear an afternoon(hyperbole) to attempt this. Last edited by gargemell311#5986 on Jan 3, 2025, 7:22:58 AM
