QoL suggestion for Acolyte of Chayula: Flames of Chayula

Hey everyone,

TLDR: The purple flames should count down to 0 as a stack instead of each flame having its own individual timer, and picking up purple flames should reset the total timer of the stack.

I've been having a blast playing the game and I'm currently in Act1 Cruel mode. I chose the go for the Acolyte of Chayula instead of the Invoker for my starter, and spent my 4 specialization points on getting the double chaos resist and the Flames of Chayula skill.

After playing with the Flame of Chayula throughout Act 3 and halfway through Act 1, I honestly feel like it would a great QoL change if the purple flames should count down to 0 as a stack instead of each flame having its own individual timer, and picking up purple flames should reset the total timer of the stack.

A alternative solution could be that the game just spawns way more purple flames, so that your 1st flame does not "run out" after picking up the 4th, but I think the first suggestion fixes it entirely.

Maybe the Flame of Chayula skill totally changes once you get the double timer node, but for now I feel like its not worth picking up more then 1 and doing some guaranteed damage with it.

Would love to hear the opinion of other (AoC monk) PoE2 enjoyers.

i also question why picking up a purple flame does not refresh the duration of all other stacks. the UI indicates they are getting refreshed until 1 falls off. the UI needs to change to reflect how it actually works or make it refresh duration.

also just fyi, the second node does not make it refresh either, it is great QoL and added power to the first node though.

for whatever reason into the breach isn't tagged with duration so can't alter the duration of any part of it which sucks.
There's one node on the ranger side (so a little down from monk start) that makes buff on you expire slower and it does work on the purple buff.

The intended gameplay seems to be to attack and wait for purple buffs to appear. Stop attacking, swoop around collecting multiple buff and set up a big damage boost.

The 2nd node does help for that, i can currently go up to 4/5 buffs on bosses and i don't have movement speed currently.

But sometimes i have like 10 red/blue blobs floating and no purple, sometimes there's like 6 purple all in the same 5 meters.
What node increases their duration? I have 30% increased skill effect duration, but it only affects the flames from Mantra of Destruction, not Waking Dream.
The stacking mechanic is kinda strange. The duration must be prolonged on pickup for all the stacks. Or it should have no stack limit. Mention os stack limit is just misleading in this case.

It's also sad that skill effect duration bonus does not affect the flames.

90 lvl, Waking dream + Lucid Dreaming and purple flame still useless. U have 0 chance to stack 10 flames and fight with them. At the map u cant stack 4 or 5 flames cuz its never spawn around and u cant stay at same place
The purple flames MUST count down to 0 as a stack or acolyte dont need Waking dream
Really asking for buffs when you didnt explore the entire game is kind of ridiculous.
If you want to keep up those flames, did you think about self-cursing with temporal chains and Shackles of the Wretched? Didnt try it but as far as i understand the game, this should work and the flames should last longer. It means you need to invest further to negate the slow but a 140% added chaos is pretty insane if youre able to do it. Compare that to the 20% added fire for the pyromancer that has to manage her eternal flame.

Edit: Also playing it myself atm and with Mantra of Destruction (looks like it also works on the bell) its actually easy to hit 10 stacks vs adds.
Considered that the flames are on paar with other ascendency buffs at like 2 stacks, thats really strong.
